Tonglen

Tonglen is a Buddhist breath/meditation practice that was by and far one of the greatest life changing practices I have ever personally experienced.

During a time of anger and consistent negative thoughts I came to the decision that I no longer wanted to think in such negative terms and I took up the practice of Tonglen which I still use to this day. When I first started doing the practice I had the blessing of almost immediate release of long held negative feelings and a drastic change in my internal dialogue.

It is my sincere wish to spread this practice to you.

Please read thoroughly.

two big meditations at the Burn this year, 80 people at the Conexus Cathedral at Thursday at noon (walking meditation and body awareness) and 20 people at HeeBeeGeeBee main tent on Saturday at three pm (breath concentration and body awareness).

It was so moving and beautiful for me to participate with people in such opening, to create consciousness depth and liberation with people, and to recieve such trust (doing what I was instructing) from people who had never meditated before. I was feel tears at the end of each of the meditations.

I didn't exepect a breakthrough in my (five year so far) meditation teaching, but I sure did get one.

CALL TO ACTION: VOICE YOUR OPINION TO THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT

WE NEED YOUR HELP...NOW! CALL TO ACTION: VOICE YOUR OPINION TO THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT ABOUT ARBITRARY AND UNJUSTIFIED BURNING MAN FEE INCREASES

The BLM has threatened to increase Burning Man's fees again this year without any rational justification. It's the last week of the public comment period before the BLM issues us a 2006 event permit with stipulations requiring Burning Man to pay more money than they are allowed to legally charge under the BLM regulations.Burning Man needs its community to flood the BLM with letters and emails stating that this increase is unjustified. An emergency Jack Rabbit Speaks will be going out Monday morning and there is a link on the Burning Man homepage to the full story including a sample letter to send to the BLM at http://burningman.com/news/blm_news_06.html Please forward this to your burner friends and ask everyone you know to send in their comments before next Friday, May 5th. Don't let the BLM raise Burning Man's fees again! Thank you for taking action!

New Tribe - SF Bay Area Buddhism and Meditation

Hey Folks,

I have started a tribe called "SF Bay Area Buddhism and Meditation". When wanting to post about NoCal-specific Buddhist events, I noticed that there was a gap beteen the "SF Yoga" tribe, on the one hand, and all the (location non-specific) Buddhism and meditation tribes on the other.

The blurb I wrote for the tribe description says, "A tribe for discussion of the deep Buddhist and meditation scene in the San Francisco Bay Area. Feel free to post or ask about a teacher or center, to announce upcoming events, to ask for rides and sitting partners, etc. Posting about Bay Area-specific topics of interest to Buddhist oriented people (i.e. things happening with Transpersonal Psychology, Hinduism and Taoism, yoga and martial arts, Eckhart Tolle and Rumi, that sort of thing) welcome also, but a main focus on Buddhism and on Buddhist practice is the intention. ¡Vive le Buddhisme et le trésor triple!"

I invite anyone who lives or spends time in Northern California and with an interest in The Buddha Way to join this new tribe. It's public, so you can just sign yerself right up - http://tribes.tribe.net/sfbaybuddhism
